Biography
Emmanuelle Germain is a French visual artist born in 1970. She lives and works in Marseille, France.
She studied photography at the Art Institute of Boston (BFA) from 1991 to 1995 and at École de La Cambre in Belgium in 1996.
Her approach is rooted in the issue of what affects people— women in particular—and the body is the focus of her work.
Her work features analog/digital photographs, installations, videos, and drawings.
Her work was exhibited at the Mucem, Fort Saint Jean, in 2020 and is included in several private and public collections, notably the collection of the Frac Sud – Cité de l’art contemporain.
Alongside the development of her own artistic projects, she takes on commissioned photography assignments in the fields of architecture, heritage, and cinema. She also works as an arts and culture educator in schools, universities, and community organizations.
